Our Hair Extensions
-
If installed correctly and taken care of properly, your hair will not be harmed. It’s very important to find a certified & experienced stylist for proper installation. A certification does not always mean a stylist can do trustworthy work. Experience is necessary.
We know everyone needs to begin somewhere, but it’s best that the stylist you choose is transparent with their experience in extensions.
-
Our hair is donated to local temples from women in India and Russia and then processed in China and packaged in the USA.
-
Usually 1-2 packs. Our blended colors are great for blending so there is little need to order 2 colors. In cases with shorter hair OR thick, dense hair, it’s always easier to order 3 packs just in case. You must match density to density, otherwise the ends will look stringy and look unnatural.
The single wefts can be used to mix and match. The hand tied flex are equivalent to about 4 single wefts. Usually 1 pack for fullness. 2-3 packs for length and fullness depending on density. Our flex weft is one long piece you can cut. That is equivalent to four pieces that you can stack. Total weight is 55 g.
-
We do not recommend bleaching or balayage or any kind of lightening service on the extensions. It will dry out the hair and compromise the quality.
Sunscreen may discolor the extensions (especially blonde!). Choosing a mineral sunscreen will not stain your extensions.
Chlorine may dry and tangle your extensions. Before swimming, use a good leave-in conditioner and put your hair in a braid.
Hard water, salt water, and chlorine can all strip natural color and hair extension color and nutrients. If possible, invest in a water softening system.

Styling & Tools
-
Yes you can! We recommend using a lower heat setting, as well as using a heat protectant spray.
-
Oil mids and ends of hair as needed. Avoid the root area of the hair extensions. We typically run oil through after the initial styling. We do not recommend oiling daily if you tend to go days without washing.
-
Air drying is recommended (the less heat, the longer the hair will last) but it’s important to remember to dry the top of the wefts close to the scalp to prevent matting.
While you may use heat on the extensions, we do not recommend heat over 400°. When blow drying, always blow dry the top of the wefts first, as they hold the most moisture.
-
When brushing, start at the ends and work your way up. Brush as needed and always before getting wet and before bed. We recommend using the Bombay Hair Extensions Loop Brush for brushing dry extensions.
Color Matching
-
It is best to purchase a Lotus + June color ring so you can color match the client’s hair at their consultation. However, it is possible to do this with our online swatch. The hair is 100% human hair and can also be toned or colored. We don’t recommend lightening it and we only recommend darkening it up to 2 levels.
-
Yes. Be sure to use a demi or semi permanent color only up to 2 levels darker than the original color. Strand tests are always suggested. You can tone the extensions but never lift the color. Always have a professional color the extensions.
Hand Tied Wefts
-
The true hand tied come in single wefts. 18” 14grams, 22” 20grams.
-
No, our Single Hand Tied Wefts should not be cut.
Flex Wefts
-
Our Flex Wefts are hand tied that you may cut. Yes, it’s possible! They are not flat or hybrid wefts. They lay even flatter than traditional hand tied wefts.
-
1 pack of 18” is 60 grams. 1 pack of 22” is 80 grams.
Washing & Sleeping
-
Always wash with a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Using a clarifying shampoo once a week or as needed is advised.
-
Shampoo the hair in the same direction and avoid scrubbing it as this will create tangles. We recommend using the DOMDOM Wet Brush to brush conditioner through our extensions.
-
Sleep in a low braid, low ponytail or low pigtails.
-
We suggest sleeping on a satin or silk pillowcase...this is also great for your skin!
